Built by F.G.C. Limited
Owned by Los Dairy Farms
Engineered by Stonecrest Engineers

·       103’ X 398’ Free Stall Barn with a 42’ X 40’ enclosed sand storage area

·       Sand bedding allows for better cow comfort

·       Cow alleys to be cleaned by the use of a skid-steer with a blade.  Manure is scraped to the rear of the barn where it is pumped over to a 170’ Dia. X 12’ deep manure storage tank

·       Manure storage tank is surrounded by a 30mil LLPDE one-piece liner to provide a secondary containment system

·       10’ 0” poly curtain system and damper chimneys to provide ventilation

·       48” two-speed fans to provide extra air movement on those hot, humid summer days

·       The animal flow in this barn is achieved by the use gates, allowing animals of similar ages to be grouped together.  Special control gates allow the operator to effectively “hold” a particular animal for breeding & pregnancy checking, vaccinating, or another purpose.  One of these gates is located in each section of free-stalls

·       A locking head-gate system also allows for individual cow to be held

·       R30 attic insulation in all areas

·       Exterior doors are insulated, windows are all thermopane

·       Sectional overhead doors have sealed openers (car-wash grade) to withstand the higher humidity levels associated with barn

·       Due to the overall size of the existing facilities and this new addition, an overhead fire door is provided in the link hallway.   In the event of a fire, this door will automatically close thus separating the two buildings.
